Fighting ContinuesI Allied headquarters in North Africa, Jan. 23-i/FVGerman and allied land forces continued fighting yesterday in the Ousseltia valley below Pont du Fahs and British and United States planes bombed and shot up axis equipment, a communique announced today.“P-40s, including the Lafayette Escadrille, attacked enemy vehicles and machine gun posts in this (Ousseltia) area, while A-20s bombed enemy tanks,” the communique said. “Hurricane bombers, escorted by Spitfires, attacked objectives at Pont du Fahs.”Details of the ground action were not disclosed by the rom-ground troops had moved in to help the French stave .off twinthrusts south westward from Pont du Fahs by which the Germans had hoped to wrest control of a 50-mile long ridge as a barrier before their coastal communication lines.- - — ----
