Civil Defense Convoy Arriving Here FridayProcedures for every man, woman and vchild to follow' m tho event of an enemy attack will be demonstrated in the Fifth Regiment Armory for vive days beginning Friday, Jan. 25, when the Alert America Convoy arrives here.The convoy, a huge motorized cavalcade of defense equipment and information, will attempt to demonstrate how the individual citizen is now partner with the person in uniform in the defense of the nation.Theme of the cavalcade is Ci-vjlDefonse Is Common Scn#ie.,#Will Uit sound EffectsThe exhibit will use motion ar.d three-dimensional effects throughout. The contents will include material contributed by the Federal Civic Defense Administration. Atomic Knergy Commission, the Defense Department, many other government agencies and private industry.The convoy, one of three which will our major cities throughout the country, has been developed by the Valley Forge Foundation, organization of citizens who arc working in behalf of civil defense as a part of the total defense of Die American way of life.Four-Point ProgramThe four-point program of the Valley Forge Foundation, as described by its president, Kenneth D. Wells is:1. To emphasize the fact that Civil Defense is the constant guardian of the American Way of Life based on a fundamental belief in Cod, on constitutional government designed to serve the people, and our imvisiblc bundle of political and economic rights.72. To help awaken all Americans to the urgent need for strong civil defense and to encourage each to enlist for such specialized training as may be possible.3. To help inspire in all Civil Defense organizations the highest possible morale.4. To get every family, factory.farm, business and institution in America to set itself up as a citadel of Civil Defense, working in full cooperation with local Civil Defense authorities.S^k Wide ParticipationThe immediate goal of the Alert America Convoy Program in Baltimore will be to enlist the widest possible participation ui civil defense work.All segments of the community are expected to support the Alert America Porgrain. Comnittecs will be organized representing women, business, labor, schools, patriotic, fraternal, and civic organizations. veterans, churches etc.Funeral Held For Mrs. Frazier, 105Funeral services were held today (Tuesday) for one of Baltimore’s oldest citizens, Mrs. Susie Frazier who was 105.Mrs. Frazier, who lived with her son Willie at 2-122 Brentwood Avo., died Friday at home after ot«« a day’s illness. She was an active church worker, and attended services tho Sunday before her death.Born in King George County, Va., Mrs. Frazier came to Baltimore 04 years ago. and was in on the fouhdmg of Ebcnozor Baptist Church. Guilford Ave. and 23rd St. where the funeral services were held.Service* At Her Horn*During the early days of the church, services were held at Mrs. Frazier’s home, and she played the piano for the meetings. This was some 57 years, ago.Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Frazier is survived by two other sons. Mdses and Joseph Frazier.
