LAWRENCE E. TAYLORLawrence E. TaylorLawrence E. Taylor, 73, of 19 Terry Court, Jacksonville, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 18, 1995, at his home.He was born Aug. 18, 1921, in Winchester, a son of Clarence E. and Mary Hankins Taylor. He married Catherine O’Connell on Nov. 4, 1946, at the Our Saviour Church. She survives.Other survivors include one son, Lawrence E. Taylor Jr. of Henderson, Nev.; two daughters, Rose Mary Mathers of North Henderson and Catherine Lenga of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one brother, Rollin Taylor.Mr. Taylor had been a contractor and building inspector for the city of Jacksonville and the department of Housing and Urban Development, He has also been employed at Don’s Place. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II He was one of 200 selected for Alamo Scouts, Special Forces. He was a member and former past president of the Jacksonville Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 1379, American Legion Post 279 and the Church of Our Saviour.A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of Our Saviour with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after noon today at the Williamson Funeral Home, where the family will meet with friends from 6-8 p.m. Prayer services will be held at 6 p.m. today. Memorials are suggested to Memorial Medical Center Hospice Program and also for masses.
