Waterusers Oppose Wildlife PaymentIDAHO FALLS, (AP)-U.S. Sens. Frank Church and James A. McClure, told the Idaho Falls Post-Register Saturday they are conferring with U.S. Department of Interior officials in behalf of Teton Dam and Reservoir waterusers who are in danger of being charged ‘'excessively ” for wildlife replacement costs.The two senators are instituting separate inquiries as to why the waterusers may be assessed for these costs when this has nol been the case in most other projects.Church said Ben Yamagato, a staff member of the Senate Interior Subcommittee on Power and Resources, is investigating the proposed contract on the Teton Reservoir, which is near completion.He said that Yamagato found lliat at the time the plan was submitted in 1973, an assistant secretary of the interiorEducation Committee Endorses Sen.
