PFC. KEITH KINSMANKILLED IN ACTIONPfc. Ivan Keith Kinsman, who was 20 years old last March 5, was killed in action in Belgium Dec. 29, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Kinsman of Jefferson, were notified Friday, Jan. 12, by the war department. Kinsman’s death occurred just a year and a day after he was inducted into the army, Dec. 28, 1943.He had received four months’ training at Camp Blanding, Fla., and was home following that for a few days’ delay en route. He went overseas in June of 1944. Private Kinsman was serving with the 33d division of the 329th infantry regiment.Private Kinsman was graduatedin 1941 from Churdan high school, and during his school days was active in the Bristol township 4-H club. Prior to his induction, he worked on the Lee Smith farm.His last letter, dated Dec. 22, said that he was sending his parents his purple heart medal awarded to him for injuries. He had also received the expert infantry badge. His parents have received no further word from the war department since the telegram.Other members of the Kinsman family, who moved to a farm west of Jefferson from Bristol township recently, are a daughter, Mrs. Vena Regur of Boone, Sgt.
