NAME STREETSAFTER VETERANSTHREE REMAINING STREETS ! GIVEN NAMES BY TOWNJ COUNCILt! The council of the town of Roland ! at its regular meeting Monday night : passed an ordinance naming the three streets in town which have no names up to this time. They were named after three veterans of the Civil War, j A. Sampson, who is the sole living veteran in Roland, C. Logan and Jonas Duea, who have passed away.The street going south on the west side of the creamery towards the golf course will be called Sampson street. On the west side of the creek, the street south from the corner by T. I, Sampson’s place will be called Logan street, and the street a block west of that one will be called Duea street. The ordinance is published in this issue of the Record.A committee consisting of B. H. Knudtson and Arthur Britson representing the town council and S. A. Ericson representing the fire department, was named to negotiate for a fire truck for Roland and they will proceed to get prices from the several firms selling this kind of equip-? ment. Sufficient funds have now been collected by the members of the fire department to insure the purchase of I a truck, the town of Roland backing b the purchase with additional funds if 5 necessary.lj Joseph 0. Johnson, who has been | serving as chairman of the street and -' alley committee, tendered his resig-I nation as head of the committee giv-j ing as his reason that he had too manyII things to look after as chairman of f j the light committee.
