If you drink beer, why not Oshkosh brewed beer?For hundreds of years, next to water, beer has been the the world’s staple drink and it’s a matter of history that for these same hundreds of years the beer drinking people of the world have been the world’s real rulers and that through all these years of every changing ideas beer should still be the standard drink of the same races of people, should convince even people who are opposed to beer that it can’t be very deadly.The old test of time is one that never fails and any made article no matter whether it’s beer or anything else that can retain its hold on the affections of the people generation after generation must be good—must be more than merely good; it must be about perfect and there are no exceptions to this rule. It follows that if you are convinced that good beer is a healthy, pleasant, palatable drink, about the only question left to decide is, who makes the good beer?It’s the purpose of this advertisement to encourage the use of Oshkosh made beer. There can be no argument over the fact that the brewers of Oshkosh pay hundreds of dollars yearly into the city treasury, that they employ at good wages many men, that they pay thousands of dollars annually to the farmers of Winnebago County (which is largely spent in Oshkosh.) These are benefits that the city gets through the existence of the Oshkosh breweries and they would be doubled and trebled if the beer drinking people of Oshkosh and vicinity would ask for their home brewed beer.AND WHY NOT ASK FOR IT?There has never been a time when there was a single good reason for favoring outside beer. Nowhere in these United States will you find a brewery that produces a better and purer beer than is made right here in Oshkosh.It is a fact that the same materials and the same slow way of aging is as necessary for the production of good beer now as it was generations ago, and t is also a fact that some of the big outside brewers employ expert chemists to provide substitutes for high priced materials and to find ways of artificially aging beer so that it can be sold as soon as made. This, of course, means a big saving to the brewery that produces hundreds of thousands of barrels of beer yearly, but the beer is never the same.We believe it to be a fact that practically none of the smaller brewers resort to substitutes either in materials or methods—with their limited output the saving would amount to but little—but in most cases the small brewer realizes that about the only way he can fight the big fellow is to do it with better beer.'TSo far as Oshkosh is concerned, the breweries have always been open for inspection. Oshkosh brewers have made many changes in plants and methods, but the change was always made for better beer, not better dividends.Why not specify home beer? It's as pure and wholesome as a drink can be made. You get just as much for your money and the same service from the man who handles the home beer as from the agent of the outside brewery.
