D.f Jan. lft.—The hostiles all broke camp at an early hour and came into the agency and took the positions A'signatod by General Miles for them. There was no demonstration. Every thing went along smooth. They are all peaceful, but hungry. This will end the trouble.Frank Grourard, the scout, estimates the number of lodges at 742, though he can not estimate the number of Indians. The latter can not, however, be less than 8,600. The Indian eainp two miles from the agency ihas been broken up.General I»rooko has been ordered to march with his command from below the mission to this point. A part of his command will campon the west bank of White v lay, extending north of the Indians, while another will tlankthem mi the west and smith.
