Kingston*.-' streets j with music md banners the Beth-S el Relief Association No 1, one of the city's many ivatcrnal end benevolent societies, went to church on Sunday afternoon to give thanks to God for another year oT successful and useful work.Celebration took the form of an anniversary service, and the unveiling of a new and beautiful banner. It was held at the Duke St. Christian Church, and was attended by one? of the largest congregations ever setn at a lodge function, of a similar kind, in this city. .Associating with them in them celebration was Dr. E. E. penso, who presided as chairman over a pleasant programme. Miss Edna La moat-,—who is making a name for herself as a friend of these lodges, also attended and unveiled the ban ner in a nice and gracious manner.Feature of the so; vice, however, was an ouUspokem challenging scr-monette to the Lodge members to ‘stand for something’ given to them by the Rev. O. G. Penso, Minister -of the Church. With fiery words, arid an aijnost startlingly accurate analysis of the evils that beset lodges, he gave them a spiritual scourge that ehould do tnem a world of good.Started four years ago, the Lodge has made, excellent progress, what with membership increased from 18 .to 88. In an excellent report presented by the Secretary* the spirit of the Lodge was clearly set out—looking bacK with pride on the past, and with hope and com age to the future.Words of inspiration and encouragement were also given them by Dr. Penso, who in his capacity as Chairman spoke to them out of the abundance of his experience as ; servant of the people, and an associate of these friendly sociu..OFFICERS AND MEMBERS of the Bethel Relief Association No. 1, marching to the Duke Street Christian Church for their fourth anniversary on Sunday afternoon.for all these years, and urged them to keep up their good work.Begun shortly after 4 o’clock the service was over at just around 6 o’clock—a well spent two hours that should serve as ideal moral and mental stimulus for the Lodge to press on to new endeavours.iiThat looks lovely!I've never teen a more perfect floor I did it with
