f‘Thanks, God Bless You All’' \Soldiers Tell Local Red CrossA number of soldiers in Southeast Asia have written to thank the Coshocton County chapter of the American Red Cross for Christmas packages, according to executive director Carol Lahna.The local chapter prepared and packaged 200 gift bags last fall for delivery on Christmas Eve. Included in each bag were such items as candy, nuts, socks, washcloths, games and soap.This year's recipients were officers and nx-n of the 2nd Battalion, 01th Artillery, part of the Army’s Force 'Logistic Command.“I would just like to lhank you all for going to ali the time and trouble of making those bags for the Cl's over here,” wrote a lance corporal. “It’s people like you who make this world a better place to live inin Vietnam.'‘Its bright homeness is in itself a morale booster,” he continued. “Thank you and God bless you.”Lt. Oates, battalion commander, wrote: “Christmas being the season when most Americans are accustomed to family reunions, decorated homes with trees, and reverence toward the birth of Christ, sometimes becomes that period when hearts become burdened with the thought of being separated from friends and loved ones.“Through your goodness, our quarters and our trees — limited as they may be — wereadorned with gifts.
