Two Ottumwa soldiers are back in this country, having been wounded in battle on the European war fronts. Mrs. Maxine Padget of 219 West Fifth street, has been noti fied that her husband, S/Segt. E mer E. Padget, has arrived in New York and is to be moved to an army hospital in the midwest. He was wounded in France, and for the past four months he has been in a hospital in England. Before going overseas a year ago, Sergeant Padget was sta tioned in Texas. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Padget of Bloomfield route 7. Another wounded man is Pfc. Robert V. Cain, recently returned after spending 33 months in the African and European theatres, during which time he was wound ed. He has gone to Des Moines after spending several days with his stepmother, Mrs. Carrie Moore of 1243 Stellar avenue.
