Pvt. I* J. Holecek Soldier of the Month Of 8th Cavalry UnitPvt. Lawrence J. Holecek. son of Mr. and Mrs. John Holecek. Jr. of Wallis was named “Soldier of the Month.” for the month of November, in the 2nd Recon. Sq. 8th Cavalry.Pvt. Holecek won in com petition over three men from A. C, and Hq. Troops. Holecek is in B Troop. His next step is the competition on division level.Pvt. Holecek graduated from Wallis High School, attended Wharton County Junior College i nd T( d' A M In October he graduated from the Fort Lewis N. C. O. Academy.He went into the service in April. 1957, and is stationed in Ft Lewis. Washington.
