The Reserve Officer* living in Hobb3 and vicinity met at the office of the Humble. Oil Refining Company Friday evening Jan. 8. Ten officers and four officer candidate* attended thi* meeting. ILieutenant Wm. E. Davis of Lov-inton acted as instructor, giving a very interesting and entertaining talk on The Field Artillery. This branch, according to Lieut. Davis, i s“The King of the Anns.’' Several graphs and charts were used in Illustrating his talk whieh was based en actual World War experiences.Sufficient interest has been ar-eused in Reserve Officer activitiesin Hobbs to warrant the formation of a chapter of the Reserve Officers Association. At the next Troop School meeting which is to be held a tthe same address on Friday evening January 22, it is proposed to organize the Lea county chapter ofthe R.O.A.A social function ha3 been proposed for Washington's Birthday, February 22 which ends National Defense Week, that will be observ-(Continued On Page Five)
