Airman F. Goodman Is Assigned To Carrier AmericaUSS AMERICA (Special to The Review) - - Airman Apprentice Frank M. Goodman, USN, son of Mr, and Mrs. Frank E. Goodman of 2504 Avenue F, Nederland, Tex., is serving aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS America, operating in the Mediterranean with the Sixth Fleet.Airman Goodman has served in the Navy since 1964. He attended Nederland High School where he was a member of the Art Club. He also was a reservist in the Port Arthur Naval Reserve unit. Airman Goodman has been assigned to America since last July.America, the Navy’s newest attack carrier, is armed with surface - to - air Terrier” guided missiles and the latest in Naval jet aircraft. She is part of an Attack Carrier Striking Force, consisting of two large carriers, two guided missile cruisers and about 16 destroyers.When not operating at sea, America will visit port cities throughout the Mediterranean.
