Their mental and physical suffering was beyond description. And all the time that Lieu- '! tenant Taylor was hold a prisoner he / was not permitted to receive. a word: of any kind from his folks at home. But when no 'word from home \ reached, him Lieutenant Taylor scented • something wrong and he had the wit ta notify Mrs. Taylor not to send any \ money, that hc. would receive some , from the Y. W. C. A. in Berlin and the | amount would tlien. be collected from | tier. It was only after he had re* j turned to the American lines that Lieu , tenant Taylor was able to write any -experiences. Because of what lie en- ; dined he bluntly says that he hates , Life “damned Huns.” A rid wh en his \ brave little wife /learned of his suf-l, ferings there was bom -within her a!
