Hammetter prior to his death, the local American Legion post has been the recipient of a lafge picture, a drawing of Andersonville prison, fa mous Confederate bastile during the Civil war, ; *This picture has been a prized possession of Mr. Hammetter for a number of years and is mounted in a heavy frame. It has been hung on the wall of the local American Legion adui-torium, ;This picture is composite in nature, It is a drawing made by a Union soldier confined t;here and drawn frommemory. In the centef it gives alarge view of the entire site, including the prison and surrounding area Around the edge arc numerous smaller views, showing details of certain things and events experienced by the lil-fated prisoners who Were confined there, many of whom died of thirst and starvation.
