Oct 22. 1942, will be held at3 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the i West Anniston Baptist Church, with the Rev Ralph Howe and the Rev j Roy Fincher officiating;.Military rites for the Marine I Coips here will be held at the graveside in Edgemont Cemetery by members of the Anniston Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Usrey Funeral Home will have charge of the arrangements.Pfc. Blewster. son of Mrs Gertie Mae Blewster Moore, of 1823 ' Rocky Hollow Road, was a former * Anniston High School athletic star who turned his baseball prowess toward a promising career after his graduation in 1938 He played professional baseball in several leaguesbefore joining the services shortly after the beginning of the last war. He went overseas June 13. 1942. andwas killed in action on Guadalcanal during Marine Corps actionthere.Hi* outstanding personality which had gained numerous friends burin his school and professional career proved to be a valuable moral builder for his Marine Corps company during the dark days of the Pacific campaign.Besides his mother. Pfc. Blewster is survived by his brother. Alvin Blewster. and hit atep-father, J. Frank Moore.Pallbearers will be Joe Callahan, | Vaughn Stewart. Frank Crow. Leon, Bradley, Gardner ‘ Bootle Monroe.
