Husband Of Medina Woman Fails To Return From RaidWord was received here last week by Mrs. Raymond Notestein (Julia Baisch) from the war department that her husband, Lt. Raymond Notestein, a bomber pilot, had been reported missing in action since Jan. 29. Lt. Notestein was engaged in a mission over Germany when his plane was damaged by enemy fire.According to a letter received by Mrs.. Notestein from the chaplain of his company, the lieutenant, after his plane had been hit, disappeared in a cloud bank and it had not yet been determined whether or not the crew had been able to bail out.Notestein had lived in Medina about a year before enlisting in the air force in August, 1942. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Notestein of Smithville, Wayne county.
