The meeting will begin at 7:30 o’clock.J,abor Men Object.Since The Globe recently published a statement to the effect that the board of education had employed Howard Brown, a real estate ..rm, to obtain options on property situated within a district designated by the board, active members of the trades assembly voiced protest of the action. They declared that the board itself should liawe made the selection.Publication in The Globe yesterday morning of an article explaining that the trades assembly probably would adopt a resolution condemning the school board's action, was followed last night by the Commercial Club’s adopting a similar resolution.“We are not protesting the employment of Howard Brown, in particular,’’ said Mr. Shelby to a representativeof The Globe, “but we feel that if mem- | a,hers of the board of education are capable of managiug Joplin's school affairs they are capable of selecting a high school site. This will amount to approximately $2,500.
