the Purple Heart. As the allied forces exerted heavy pressure upon the enemy and they were compel lei to evacuate the city of Metz, they left behind many large buildings that would ordinarily have been demolished. The walls of some of the large assembly halls in the city were literally covered with German flags. Capt. Gibbs sent one of these flags to his father. It has been on display over at the Security State Bank f for several days and has been quite an object of attraction. This swastika on this particular flag is about three feet across on a white background a complete circle some four feet: in diameter on red bunting which is approximately five by twenty feet.— Mabank Banner.
