Mrs. Charles Gluth of Reedsburg lias received vcrd that her son, Verne ] Trachsler, lias arrived at Camp Grant, j where he was nine months, when he was first called to the colors. He is with the 331st field artillery. Before sailing they were at Bordeaux, France, in an embarkation camp. They were ] given new clothing and were sent to lt;Marseilles, where they took an Ital- j ian boat for the states. They had a hard trip, the ocean was rough, and ] it took them sixteen days to cross. \ They landed in New York February 4, ( the 331st field artillery complete. They left the boat the next morning about i■£ o’clock and went to Camp Merritt. ] From there to Camp Grant. iThere are a number of others from ( Sauk county with Soldier Trachsler, ] It will be recalled the 331st field artillery moved from Camp Grant, through Portage and Kilbourn, to Camp Robinson, near Sparta. Later they wrent to Europe. Many of these from this county with the commandwill be at home soon.
