The former one belonged to the First Regiment, but the present unfortunate fellow, it is my^painfol duty to say, was a volunteer in our own regiment.Tie history of the crime for which the poor follow suffered death is, as near as I can find out, in brief, about as follows: On the day of our camming (the 21st ult.) at CampLyrie, or the succeeding one, Samuel H. Calhoun, of Company A, and a companion, whose name I did not learn, were discovered by the gentleman (a Mr. Sutherland) who owned the land upon which we were camped in the ac t of * taking from near his house, which is but a short distance from camp, a hog, which one of the men had killed.
