His sister, Mary Lou Wood, sang a vocal solo, accompanied by Patricia Roberts.i • •Veda Sessions was releasedas relief society work director.Laura Draney as relief society organist and Nyla Robinson asrelief society science instructor. LaVereJohns attended Sunday Schooland priesthood meeting Sunday.• • •New song books, donated by the relief society, were placedin use Sunday for the first time.+ • •Boy scouts of the ward attended all their meetings duringBoy Scout Week in full uniform.• * •iIThe explorer basketball team, coached by Garth Leavitt, won the stake championship last week, but lost their first game in the divisional tournament by one point, to a Mapleton, Idaho team.SECOND WARDIn commemoration of Boy Scout Week, the Sunday evening sacrament meeting program was presented by the scouts. There are 64 enrolled in the ward including cubs, guides, scouts and explorers. The program was as follows: The oath was presented by Cub Scout Michael Putnam; scout law by Cub Scout Kim Titensor; talk, “The Law of the Pack,” by Cub David Robinson; scout promise by Cub Charles Summers; clarinet solo, Scout Tom Bar-rus, accompanied by his mother; talk, Scout Kevin Call; talk. Curt Call, explorer; piano solo, Bill Hastings, explorer; talk, Brent Wadsworth, explorer; and final remarks Ralph Titensor, of the bishopric. The theme was “LDS,” which stands for Leadership, Devotion and Service.
