S/Set. Elmer E. Padget, who went away with the 113th cavalry of the Iowa national guard and who fought with his mechanized reconnaissance squadron in France, has re turned home fol lowing a medical discharge. Padget spent four months in an English hos pital and a month in the Staten Island hospital in New York and at the Barnes general hospital at Van couver, Wash. He was wounded in France August 25, along the Seine river. His outfit went into France short ly after D-day, and was in the battles at St. Lo and Normandy, operating ahead of the front lines. This same unit has been in many other severe engagements since, and has been fighting in Belgium and Germany. Sergeant and Mrs. Padget are visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Padget of Bloom field and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pot torff of Eldon, while he is re cuperating from his war wounds.
