Marine Sergeant Kerry L. McCutchen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ocie L. McCutchen, of 200 E. Chapoy, and whose wife Debra is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe T. of 110 Alta Vista,all of Del Rio, Tex., is par-ticipatii^ in Exercise ‘^Alpine Warrior 77”.He is a member of the 2nd Marine Regiment, homebased at CampLcjeune, N. C. His unit is an element of the 12th Marine Amphibious Brigade lt;MAB).“Alpine Warrior”, an annual exercise designed to provide essential cold weather training for East Coast-based Marines, is taking place at Fort Drum, N. Y . The 3,000-man 12th MAB is commanded by Marine Brigadier General Francis W. Tief.Stressing the problems encountered in cold weather operaUons, the six-week exercise includes both individual and unit training.Thus far during the maneuvers, he and his fellow Marines have had to put their cold weather training into practice immediately. Considering wind-chill factors, the temperature at Ft. Drum has dropp^ to between 40 and 50 degrees below zero.A 1974 graduate of^Del Rio Hi^ School. McCutchen joined the Marine Corps injtlay 197!
