Gen. Chapman Will BecomeNorth American Air ChiefArmy Maj. Gen Ethan Allen Chapman, commander of Western North American Air Defense Region at Hamilton Air Force Base, on June 1 will become chief of staff of all North American Air Defenses, with headquarters at Ent Air Force Base. Colo.General Chapman is also commander of the Sixth Army Air Command with headquarters at Fort Baker.He will replace Army Jaj. Gen. Mervyn M. Magee, former commander of the Norad regionat Hamilton, who is retiring from the service.General Chapman will be replaced at Hamilton by Army Maj. Gen. James R. Winn, chief of the military advisory group in the Philippines.General Chapman came to Hamilton last November from, Japan where he was the chief of1 staff of the U. S. Army in Japan. A native of Houston.
