Carter had arrived in the United States from England and would be home in a few days but due to! the serious illness of his father, L. R. Carter at the Burlington i hospital at Burlington, word was sent by the Red Cross for him I to be permitted to come here immediately. Cpl. Carter was en route home from England when i the cable stating the serious con-: dition of his father was sent Joverseas and until his arrival had| not b en informed.Willard King, son of Mr. and Mrs. Derr King of Lee County hasj been stationed at South Camp|! Hood, Texas.
