2 B-25s CRASH; 5 FEARED KILLEDSACRAMENTO, Feb. 12.—OJ.R)— Mather Field officials today announced two B-.15 medium bombers collided and croshc*d last night over the Sacramento River about 15 mile? south ot Sacramento. Bodies of four of the five officers aboard the two planes were recovered and the otherwas still missing.Only one victim was identified immediately, First Lieut. John A. Wachtcr.The victims were identified as:2nd Lieut. James T. Dolan, 22. Lynchburg. Va.; 2nd Lieut. Edwin N. Carroll, 20, San Pedro, Calif.; and 1st Lieut. John A. Wachter. 23, Sacramento, 2nd Lieut, Robert L. Shat* luck Sacramento.Three men were aboard one of the planes, found about 10 p.m., and eyewitnesses said two bodies were in the wreckage, A bridge lender said he saw a parachute in Uie river, and it was believed the third airman either bad parachuted or fallen into the river and drowned.The plane was partially burned, eyewitnesses said, and one wing broke off and floated some distance down the river.‘ Wreckage of the second plane was not discovered until daylight. Tin* bodies of the two occupants were recovered,2nd Lieut. Milton O. Gleason, 25, Evansville, Ind., is missing, lie is believed to bave parachuted.
