IT. COL. JOHN CANAVANLt. Col. John Canavan Assigned to Local CAPDENVER, Colo.—-The Department of the Air Force has announced the assignment of USAF Reserve Lt. Col. John Canavan as a staff member of the Tri - County Detachment,Civil Air Patrol.Col. Canavan. a practicing dentist in Glens Falls, N.Y., will be in charge of directing and leefing up the air cadet pro- j gram within the local CAP unit.A native of Fort Edward, Col.Canavan was educated in that community’s school system.Following graduation from St.Bonaventure University, he attended Georgetown School of 11 Dentistry. Shortly thereafter, in 1953, he entered the Air Force serving on active duty through!1956. He remained on Reserve; status gradually working his way to his present grade. Re cently the colonel wras named area liaison officer for the!USAF Academy. patrol is an auxiliary of the U.S.Col. Canavan is attached to Air Force, the 9004th Air Reserve Squadron Col.
