Sad Trip InterruptedGlen Couch, left, and Pel Gurule, both of Denver, stopped inTaos this week and Wei’s forced to spend an extra day—the result of a minor auto-bus crash on the north edge of town. The two were driving to Las Vegas where Gurule was to present medals to the mother of a soldier who was killed i during World War 11. Gurule# himself a Korean veteran and disabled, is a nephew of Pvt. Margarita Padilla of Vegas ' who was killed in the crash of a C-47 transport in the wilds of New Guinea un Nov. W, 1MJ, The wreckage of the plane | was discovered about one and one-half months ago. Ha wa» delivering a Bronze Star modal awarded 20 years late, and • Purple Heart, to Padilla’s mother, Mrs. paided Padilla.Gurule is a member of a Denver American Legion Post aswell as the Regular Veterans Assn.# of which Couch also is a member.
