Fred Reed 1stTo Be DraftedSelective Service executive secretary, Bonita Guffey, released information that Fred Heed of Tipton County was the first boy to be drafted in the county on the new lottery system. Heed was inducted into the Army and is now serving in the armed forces. His lottery number was 16.
