Army stationed in Wbstorn Texas, sent some 200 or 3000 Negro troops to Bagdad, a small town in Mex ico, under pretense of protecting the oitisens from outrages of French troops This expedition, whether by .explicit command from Gen. Crawford or not, does not appear—went regularly into the pillaging business themselves after the most approvod style of many oth ers while Scouring portions of their own country “so called.” Gen.[Crawford,',lik6 somo other notorious Generals secured a portion of the. booty—probably the Lion’s share. The Maximilian Govern qient, being about to take notice of the affair, a crawling may not be incompatible with tho dignity of some officious officials. This is not tho first interesting item in Gen. Crawford's history, as may be seen from the following which we clip from the Richmond Times:“Tho “General R.
