Twenty Percentof Those Examined Physically, FitFORTY-SIXIN GLASS ONE\AU registrants of the county have been classified by the local exemption board, and all-of those In-Class 1 are being physically examined. Dr. V. W. Hudson, the medical examiner of the hoard; has beah examining eiglit men day for the past two weeks, and will increase the number to ten each day after this week, T^he first ones called for physical examination were rhose who had been previously, examined for the fir^t draft and failed to. pass at that time, and those who did pass at the first examination and are on the waiting list to fill thte balance of the first quota required of this county. This County is still due to send twenty ^our men to complete its quota in the first draft, and these men are subject to call at any time.Only about twenty per cent of those examined by Dr. Hudson haVepassed the physical examination, but when he reaches the new men j^aced in Glass' 1, the percentage of those physically fit is expected to run about forty per cent.All of those in Class 1, who passed the physical examination, are placed Oh the waiting list and are subject to call on twenty four hours notice. It is not expected that any of these men. wilh be^ called until the cantonments are emptied of their present quota of soldiers, or until the quota is materially reduced.By the recent classification of theV 'local boa”rd 478 men have been«assigned to Class 1, 46 of which are negroes;* 12 to Class 2 and about 1400 to Class 4.
