Joseph M. Hogan has recently been promoted to Major in the Signal Corps., according to a message received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Hogan.Major Hogan, who observed his 26th birthday Dec. 20, graduated from Waunakee high school in 1934 andfrom the University of Wisconsin in1939.•»’* * «*' 9 ' . f i-'He received his commission as Second Leiutenant in June, 1938, when he completed the R. O. T. C. advanced course at U. W. He entered active service in the army on Dec. 27, 1940 at Fort Custer, Michigan. He was advanced to First Leiutenant in July, 1941 and in Sepember, 1941, was transferred to the Hawaiian Department. He was promoted to Captain inMarch, 1942.In September of this year he returned to the states to attend the Figher Command School at Orlando, Florida. After a brief visit at his home he returned to Hawaii where he is on the staff of the Signal Aircraft Warning Regiment, attached to the Fighter Command Army Air Corps.
