On Italian Front* • s ♦ %. William B. Paschal, card roomworker, in the Schoolfield: mills,• * •that his son. Staff Sergeant John 1 \V. Paschal, has been missing hi action in Italy since December 2.; When last heard from he \vas a gunner in a medium bomber - and he had been in many combat 'missions. The circumstances under which he. is missing were not detailed in the telegram received by his father last night. “Maybe he came down among the Italians who are hiding him,’’ the father hopefully stated this morning.Sergeant Paschal who is 19 had charge of one of the milt canteens at the time he volunteered in.the air corps in August 1942. He had graduated that year from the Schoolfield high school. On entering tlie service he was trained j at Palm Beach, at Panama City jalso at an airfield in New Mexico,; His father received on December 15 a letter written by his son on November 30 just aFter the flier had enjoyed his ^rmy Thanksgiving’ Day dinner which he said was very good.
