DELEGATION OPPOSES LENGTHENING HOURS FOR BARBER SHOPSA delegation of Joplin barbers and a committee from the central labor union protested today to the city council against action last week by the commission in lengthening the hours of business of barber shops.Clarence Spain, secretary of the barbers’ organization, declared that a majority of the barb8 a. m. to 6 p. m., with a 9 p. m; closing hour on Saturdays. He said a petition can be obtained to show the majority, and indicated that it will be presented. Members of the council said they will consider such a petition, since it was on the petition of a majority of the shop owners that they extended the hours from 7 a. m. to 7 p. m.C. JS.
