He has been relieved from active duty with this division and transferred to a re-placement depot How soon he will change his army uniform for his civilian clothes depends upon shipping facilities and how soon he can be processed at his separation* center,Trozzo entered the army 33 months ago and came overseas with the 11th Airborne on Muy 5, 1944* He won his “Boots and Wings, qualifying as a paratrooper, in New Guinea in August 1944. Besides fighting in the New Guinea, Leyte and Luzon campaigns, Trozzo served on Okinawa and was among the first troops to enter the Japanese mainland.Along with the Combat Infantrymen's Badge, Trozzo has been awarded the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with three battle stars, the Philippine -Liberation Ribbon with two battle stars, and the Victory Medal.Trozzo was formerly employed by the Pittsburgh Steel Co.
