T-5 PETER BLUM HONORABLY DISCHARGEDT/5 Peter G. Blum, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Blum Sr., of 328 East Devlin street, arrived home late Thursday afternoon from Camp Grant, where he was discharged from the army earlier in the day after three years and three months overseas.Pete entered the service on Feb. 20, 1942 and had his training at Camp Forrest, Tenn. He went overseas on Sept. 2, 1942 and was on the j Fiji Islands, New Hebrides, Guadalcanal, Bougainville and finished up in Luzon. He brought home a number of souvenirs.His decorations and citations include one service stripe with six overseas service bars, the Asiatic-1 Pacific theatre ribbon with two bronze battle stars, Philippine liberation ribbon with one bronze battle star, the good conduct medal and meritorious unit award. During hisservice he was also awarded the combat infantryman badge.Immediately after the first of the year he will resume his duties in the Ho Bo Cigar factory.
