New AI beer Axe Factorr Sold—To Goaaeice Operations at Once.It will be gratifying to our people to know that the New Albany Axe Factory, which has been lying idle so long, is to be put in operation in a few days or weeks at most. This factory is the largest of the kind in the west, having capacity to turn out eight hundred axes per day, and furnish employment to over a hundred men and boys.For some weeks past negotiations for its purchase have been pending, and it is now an accomplished fact. Messrs. Ed. Ford Co. disposing of it to John »S. McDonald, Jesse J. Brown, K. P. Main, Joseph Lough-miller, Mrs. Laps ley, and John B. Ford. The new owners are now making arrangement* to put the work in full operation, and from the well known energy and enterprise which have characterized their management of other enterprises in this city, we shall expect to see the Now Albany Axe Factory take rank as one of the first manufacturing interests of our city. They have ample means to carry on this important branch of industry on a grand scale, and are determined to do so. Long may they live and prosper in the good work of building up the manufacturing interests of our city.
