What a pity that the 8th could not be full when it has made such a glorious record I Lieut. Wetherell neglects to say * that in the fight his own haversack was shot away. Perhaps modesty forbid, but such was the fact. Sergeant MeKissen w as wounded by a ball striking bis musket and knocking it against his head, lie was senseless for some little time and some slivers from the musket were driven into his scalp. He is now doing well. Sergeant Edwards had | -a narrow escape, but was not called fromthe field. Beside these, there were many other hair-breadth escapei.O A. C L.
