Pivero, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Pivero of 37 Hawthorne Ave., is serving aboard the destroyer USS Stickell with the 6th Fleet in the Mediterranean.The Stickeil represented the United States at the commemoration of the anniversary of the liberation of Brest, France, from the Nazis in 1944. A detachment of sailors, including Seaman Pivero, marched in the commemorative parade.The Stickell has. stopped at Malta, Athens, Naples, Barcelona and Venice.. Seaman Pivero is a 1967 Pittsfield High School graduate. He attended Lowell Tech and Berkshire Community College. He has been studying electronics under the Cleveland Institute otElectronics.Miss Corinne Elizaheth Rash, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert F.ash of Potter Mountain Road, Hancock, has completed 30 weeks of basic training at the Naval .Training Center, Bain-bridge, Md. The V/ave is a graduate of New Lebanon (N.Y.)
