McClainRobert L. McClain, a native of Lockhart, recently was promoted to Sergeant Major in the United States Army. Promotion to sergeant major is the highest promotion that an enlisted man can achieve in the Army.He enlisted in the army March 15, 1966. during his enlistment he has served three tours of duty in Germany, two in Korea and one tour in Vietnam. At present, McClain is assigned as Oferation Sergeant Major in the 557th United States Army Artillery Group in Herbon-seel-bach, The Federal Republic of Germany.McClain received his high school diploma from George Washington Carver High School
