But the youngster’s vreal interest is Apollo.“This is going to be one of the biggest things that ever happened to me,” Kevin said.“I’ve been dreaming of being there in person when an Apollo crew is rescued and how it’s coming true,” he said. “My next wish is to have a moon rock,”After lunch with Adm. Green, skipper of the Ticonde-roga, Kevin went on a tour of the aircraft carrier,He got special briefings on such features as the Skylab mobile laboratory where physicians look over the astronauts after splashdown. He also examined the boilerplate dummy spacecraft which the astronaut recovery team uses in practice sessions.Kevin was first operated on for cancer in June, 1969, It was only about the middle of this year when he was told that doctors had not ^thought he would live so long.“But I did, didn’t I?” was his brief reply.
