She is j quite a character. It appears that she re*, sided in this city some years ago, in u house j of unqttestionahb) character, but managed by some deceptive arts, which are best known to women, to win the affections of an Arkansas planter, who married her. She soon tired of married life, left him, ami neat appeared w ith our army in I’toll, where she tiecaine acquainted with many under the name of Mrs. Arnold. The rebellion broke out and Mrs. Arnold, o/uw Mrs. Williams, was next found doing the duty of a private soldier at the battle of Manassas, as a mem* tier of the Seventh Louisiana regiment. She was brought into public notice again last spring, just after the battle of Shiloh, having been wounded in that engagement, an a member of the Kleventh Louisiana.
