Kindness (II-Hamilton) announced today the appointment of Roger Gillespie of Middletown as his Eighth District representative effective Jan. 2.Gillespie. 4U, 1(12 Hcnrick Drive, will leave his position as head of the civil division of the Butler County sheriff’s department Dee. 27 to assume his new duties, according to a joint statement by Kindness and Sheriff Harold J. Carpenter.Gillespie will be in charge of the Hamilton office in Butler County and the Greenville office in Darke County in addition lo the mobile office, said Kindness, 58th Ohio District state representative, who was elected to Congress in the November election.Taking over Gillespies job in the civil division located in the Butler County Courthhouse will he Capt. Knlcrl D. Wright. 35. 434tMR. GILLESPIEMarcia Ave., Hamilton, a I4-ycar veteran of the sheriff's department, according to Sheriff Car pouter Married and the lather of four children, Gillespie has headed the civil division for two years. A graduate of Monroe High School and Morehead Stale College. Morohcad, Ky.. he served as Butler County coordinatorand meetings chairman forKindness in the congressman’s campaign.Gillespie has been serving as secretary of the Butler County Republican Executive Committee. He is past president of the Middletown Young Republicans and past stale chairman of the Ohio Young Republicans. .The newly appoinlcd district representative served as campaign manager for Sheriff Carpenter during the sheriffs primary and general eleclion in l'JGB and lor the 1972 general election. He has also served in key roles in several political campaigns for other candidates.Capl. Wright is a native of Hamilton and a 1957 graduate of Hamilton High School. Married and Inc father of three children, the deputy attended Miami University at Oxford and Benjamin franklin School of Accounting in Washington. D. C.While attending school in Washington. Capt. Wright worked lor the Federal Bureau ol Investigation for two years.
