R.C.E. of Winnipeg, and the 6th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Engineers. Pine Falls, when they held their final parade.Along with the attendance of the 16th Field Squadron, the 12th Field and 6th Field will disband at the end of December. To mark this solemn occasion, the two groups met at Pine Falls Armouries for the last regimental parade.Upon forming in two groups. Lieut. Col S. W. Jackson. Commanding Officer of the 6th Field Regiment, made the last inspec-thehoofip-ghtingDr. Slogan Addresses Conservative Meetingurn e asus-theDr. Joseph Slogan. M.P. for Springfield, was present for the annual meeting of the Springfield Federal Conseivative Association held in the Pine Falls Ltgion hall on December 12.Following the business meeting. at which the present executive was re-elected for another term. Dr. Slogan gave an interesting account of his experiences w’hile on his trip in Europe as a delegate to the recent NATO conference. His impressions of the contrast between Paris and Berlin at this time left those present with a vivid picture of the two cities.Dr. Slogan informed the group that he had several coloured slides of his trip which he would be pleased to show to any grouption among the heart sickened members of the 12th Field Squadron. Following this portion of the ceremonies, the trophies of the 12th Field Squadron were turned over to the 46th Field Squadron. R.C.E. Pine Falls, for their use and safe keeping Among the many cups, the oldest, the Holman Cup for Curling, dates back to 1926 The trophies cover all phases of training such a* bridge building, wireless, sports events, etc.Members of the 12th Field Squadron will now either retire, or look for positions with other units of the Militia.Lieut. Colonel S. W. Jackson then accepted a token of appreciation from Major‘A. H. Hill in the form of a book, the History of the Royal Canadian Engineers, Part 1 (Part 2 printing not complete).With the 6th Field Regiment. R.C.E., on supplementary orders, effective January 1st. 1965. marks the end of a distinguished past for members of its many units. The 12th Field served as the nrst Tunneling Company at Gibraltar during the Second World War. With the exception of a few regiments. nearly all units of the three services started from ihe engineers.The 6th Field Regiment. R.C.E . was formed in Building 14. Car-piquet Barracks in February. 1953, with 70 to HO members made up of ex-service men who wanted to keep in touch. The commanding officers since its beginning, include: Lieut. Col. L. A.
