The 30-day course B. lor mess sergeants, is taught by Sgt Roy B. Summers. Here the students get theoretical instruction, mess management, and supervision. Requisite to all courses is a 100 per cent grade in course D, 60 days covering the basic principles of cooking, nutrition, balanced diet, personal hygiene. The School for Bakers Cooks also trains officers in mess supervision.■ tIn the field kitchen behind the mess ihall, the School for Bakers Cooks gives instruction in preparing dehydrated foods and in combat cooking. Tec 5 Brodie Harryman, a student from the 546th Engr LP Co, is testing the results over a 2-burner, 20-man, collapsible cook set. Also on the table is a 1-burner mountain cook set and the container in which it is carried, used by small advance patrols, snipers, paratroopers, and reconnaissance Units ontheir own. The cans contain dehydrated beets, potatoes, cabbage, and carrots.
