Jr., technician fifth grade, is at home with his parents following his recent discharge from the army on November 20. after almost four years in the service.The handsome 28 year old soldier was taken ill at Naples, Italy, last spring, suffering from pneumonia , after having contracted malaria in Sicily, and was evacuated to a Virginia hospital June 15 of this year, proceeding soon thereafter to El Paso. He is now recunerating, and although not entirely recovered, is looking well.In the army signal corps. CpI. Barry entered the service January 14. 1941 and went overseas in October of 1942. going direct to French North Africa. At the conclusion of that campaign he landed at Sicily, helped to reduce that Italian island to im-notence and proceeded to Italy. He wears the ore Pearl Harbor ribbon, the ETO ribbon with camoaign stars for North Africa, Sicily and Italy, the Good Conduct ribbon and the ATO ribbon.• In his company was Charles Kaase of Kenney. Otherwise he Saw no one from this section during his long stay overseas.Mild mannered and quiet, the veteran says he plans to snend several months at home, fishing and hunting v/hen the opportunity presents itself, and then perhaps go to New Mexico to live.—Buy Bonds—
