Two Flyers Killed in Jet Crash at Maine BasePresque Die, Maine, Dec 12(JP) — Two fivers died last night in the crash of an F89HScorpion jet lighter plane which exploded near a row ofhomes while making a landing,THE BODIES were recovered from the all weather interceptor of the 76th Fighter-interceptor Squadron at Presque Isle Air Force B tse.The Air Force identified the victims as the pilot. First Lt David \V St (.'lair. 21. son of Mr and Mrs ('hue P. StClair of Fast Cleveland, Ohio:and radar observer. First Lt Roger D, Sundnhl. 21. son ofMr and Mis Henry CL Sunda hi of Dallas. Tex.St ( lair is survived by his widow. Heater, then son. Daw id jr and a daughter. Deborah, who lives at Presque Isle. Sundahl was not married.IVAN MrGLAUFLIN JR ofPresque Isle, a former Navy airman, said he was watching the plane’s landing lights as it made a final approachto the runwav at the Air De**fense Command installation. The lights suddenly disap-, peared, he said.THEN I SAW a rolumn rtflame go 200 feet in the air Only the tail assembly of the aircraft was found intact. The rest of the jet was smashed over 75 feet of landscape.The tail was only 150 yards from a row of homes.
