Dec. 12 (Special)—Fred Renn. who served with the Marines almost three years, received his discharge at the|c! separation center at Klamuth Falls, ;S1 i Oregon, and has begun work at a'[I meat cutter in Andy’s Grocery and Market.He enlisted in the Marines in January of 1943, training as a paratrooper, and was sent overseas the following September and served m the Solomon Islands for five months I and then came home on a 30-days’ i furlough. He was next sent to the I west coast and on to Hawaii, and later took part in the Invasion of Iwo Jima, where he was wounded March 9. He was hospitalized in Hawaii until July after which he was sent back to the States and a hospital in Farragut, Idaho, and! S later to the separation center in * Kalmuth, Ore.He was awarded the Purple Heart, Presidential Citation, Navy Unit badge, the American Theater and Asiatic-Pacific ribbons, the World War II Victory medal and his paratrooper wings.Ps:vTtlt;dv.etlt;cstliP
